Special Session on Sustainable Computing for a Better Environment
Description and Objectives
Sustainability is a keyword in the 21st century. All organizations are concerned on transforming their processes into a greener environmentally friendly style, such as low emission of volatile organic compounds, reduction on waste accumulation, increasing the energy savings, giving new applications to old technologies and so on. In this sense, computer-based solutions in companies, industries and academia are required to follow such ideas. So, we invite colleagues from all over the world to submit papers and discuss the active role of computer techniques for the development of a better environment.
Authors are invited to submit full research papers or posters on topics that might be interesting for (but no restricted to):
- Green information technology (IT)
- Sustainable software developing processes
- Re-insertion of outdated technologies in updated scenarios
- Energy-saving practices in IT
- Telecommunication applications
Paper Submission
Submissions must be in an electronic form as PDF format and should be uploaded using the conference website. The submitted paper should be at most 8 ACM single-space printed pages. Please use the following templates to generate your PDF: MS Word and Latex.
Papers that fail to comply with length limit will be rejected. Submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 peer reviewers. After the preliminary notification date, authors rebut by evidence and arguments all reviewer inquiries and their comments. Based on the rebuttal feedback, reviewers notify authors with the final decision. Selection criteria will include: relevance, significance, impact, originality, technical soundness, and quality of presentation. Preference will be given to submissions that take strong or challenging positions on important emergent topics related to Digital Ecosystems. At least one author should attend the conference to present the paper.
The conference Proceedings will be published by ACM and indexed by the ACM Digital Library and DBLP.
