Special Track on Intelligent Information Technology

Description and Objectives
This special track aims to bring together a large community constituted by academia, research institutes, and industry from Brazil and abroad, which are interested to explore current challenges related to Intelligent Information Technology. We denote Intelligent Information Technology all research and development study and application of Information Technology resources, Computational Intelligence and Modelling and Simulation practices used as analysis tools for operational support and decision-making in areas, which includes health, social and exact sciences. The idea of this track is to understand how these current technologies can be developed and adapted for improving the development of our digital ecosystems society.
We from UNINOVE are sure that such a track will be a huge opportunity to find potential partners to collaborate with our projects, within global initiatives of Brazilian Government in cooperation with other countries via Science without Borders Program (http://www.cienciasemfronteiras.gov.br/web/csf-eng/).
Topics
Authors are invited to submit full research papers and on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

- Robotics, embedded systems and computer vision

- Information Management
- Knowledge Management
- Business Intelligence
- Software Engineering
Short industry papers (up to 4 pages in the ACM format) or presentations on practical experiences with collaborative development are invited, especially on the following subjects:
- Case studies in industrial open innovation
- Collaborative physical systems
- Agriculture monitoring
- Technology evaluation
- Systems and metrics for measuring performance

Paper Selection Process and Publication
This special track of the MEDES conference will follow the general guidelines of the conference with respect to submission and paper selection. All submitted papers will be published in the MEDES conference proceedings, with the same opportunities for selection to journal special issues.
Paper Submission
Submissions must be in an electronic form as PDF format and should be uploaded using the conference website. The submitted paper should be at most 8 ACM single-space printed pages. Please use the following templates to generate your PDF: MS Word and Latex.
Papers that fail to comply with length limit will be rejected. Submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 peer reviewers. After the preliminary notification date, authors rebut by evidence and arguments all reviewer inquiries and their comments. Based on the rebuttal feedback, reviewers notify authors with the final decision. Selection criteria will include: relevance, significance, impact, originality, technical soundness, and quality of presentation. Preference will be given to submissions that take strong or challenging positions on important emergent topics related to Digital Ecosystems. At least one author should attend the conference to present the paper.
The conference Proceedings will be published by ACM and indexed by the ACM Digital Library and DBLP.
