Description and Objectives

“Building Digital-ecosystems for Digital Government” Special Session takes place together with MEDES 2017. Its central goal is to bring together digital leaders across public sectors (experts in organization, institutions, government, information scientists, service scientists, and social scientists) to share experience and build global research capacity, to advance practice, and to strengthen the network of researchers and practitioners engaged in building and using technology in government. The focus is on the relationships between digital technologies, information science, public management, user experience, design thinking and government, that is, citizen-centric service innovation, business optimization, enterprise architecture planning. 

Topics

Topics to be discussed in the workshop include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Open/Linked Data
  • Data Management and Interoperability
  • Digital Services (for government operations)
  • Theories, Conceptual Frameworks and Innovative Methods for Developing Digital Government
  • Applied researches (e.g. Natural Language processing, Ontology, Knowledge Engineering)
  • Robust Agile Approaches for Government Projects Development
  • User experiences based Service Design and Usability Evolution
  • Challenges in Digital Government
  • Case Studies/ Lessons Learned in Digital Government Transformation

Paper Submission

The submitted paper should be at most 8 ACM single-space printed pages. Please use the following templates to generate your PDF: MS Word and Latex.

Papers that fail to comply with length limit will be rejected. At least one author should register and attend the conference to present the paper.

The special session papers will be published in the conference Proceedings and indexed by the ACM Digital Library and DBLP.
